Scan with Spybot for spyware and adware

Spybot S&D is a leading product which you can use to scan for and remove spyware and adware from your computer. It can be downloaded from the Internet free of charge. Spybot uses definition files to recognize the malware it is searching for, and it is important that you have the latest version of these files when scanning with Spybot. These definition files are separate from the executable file. When the computer on which Spybot is being run has Internet connectivity, Spybot can perform a Web update. When there is no Internet connectivity, the user must download and install these definition files manually.

If Spybot-S&D 1.4 is not installed on your computer, you must first install it. If it already installed on your computer continue with step 6 below.
If you have previously downloaded the Spybot-S&D installer, double-click spybotsd14.exe to start the Install Wizard. Otherwise download it now.
- Browse to http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html. On the right left of the page under Home click Download. Scroll down the next page until you come to the section with the Download heading. To the right, click to top Download here button. On the next page select a mirror sight, and select the corresponding Download here button. Follow the directions to download Spybot-S&D, and select Run in the File Download window. The installer will download and start.
Select you language, and when the install wizard starts, click Next. Accept the license agreement, then click Next.
Use the default destination folder, and click Next on the following 3 pages., and click Install again. The installation will start. When Spybot is finished installing click Finish.
When Spybot-S&D is run for the first time, a wizard is started. Click Next until you are on Step 5 of 7. There you should click in Search for updates to get the latest updates. This is a very important step! Without the latest updates Spybot cannot find and remove spyware from your computer effectively. When made active, click the Download all available updates button. Once the updates are installed, Spybot S&D will start. Continue with Step x below.
Open Spybot S&D by double-clicking the Spybot - Search and Destroy icon on your Desktop, or opening is from the Start menu under All Program, then Spybot - Search and Destroy.
Click Check for Problems and Spybot will perform a scan of your computer for spyware and adware.
When the scan is finished, Spybot shows a list of the items found. To remove these items check their respective checkboxes, then click Fix selected problems. and click Next. Then click Yes to confirm.
Spybot will now uninstall the objects. When finished close Spybot.

Scan your computer with Spybot regularly, being sure to always get the latest updates first. How often you need to scan depends on your browsing habits, and what you use your computer for.

You should also be using Ad-Aware and Microsoft Defender to protect your computer. Which of these products is the best is a moot point. Scan with any of them, and the others may still find additional objects, so the best solution is to use them all.
